Bike for Kam

My wife Kam and I have recently launched a new fundraising campaign called “Bike for Kam http://bikeforkam.com/ to raise funds and awareness towards the disease HIBM (Hereditary Inclusion Body Myopathies). HIBM is a rare genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle wasting and weakness. Muscle degeneration usually starts around the age of 20 – 30 and can lead to very severe disability, or even a quadriplegic state within 10 – 20 years.

My wife Kam is afflicted with this terrible disease which is why we both work very hard to fundraise for ARM http://www.hibm.org/arm/ (Advancement of Research Myopathies), the organization which is researching to find a cure of HIBM.

Bike for Kam http://bikeforkam.com/ is about a group of friends coming together to complete a coastal bike tour from San Francisco to Santa Monica (Los Angeles) on April 25 to April 29, 2011. The purpose of their journey is to raise funds and awareness for Kam, and for all those afflicted with HIBM. Through this project we hope to raise awareness of HIBM, so that we may soon find a cure for this rare genetic muscle debilitating, and degenerative condition.

Bike for Kam http://bikeforkam.com/ is a grass roots project which means we are counting on you to donate and pass it around your community. Post it on Facebook and Twitter, and email it to whoever you think would be interested. Please take a little time to check out the site and to view our promotional video. A cure is within reach but we need your help to get there.

Deep Realms

Recently Playdom released its latest RPG "Deep Realms"
I did much of the preproduction work on this game during my time at Playdom, and I have to say that the final result looks stunning. Deep Realms is a deep RPG game with an appealing look that should appeal to the hardcore enthusiasts, and casual players alike. The team at Playdom should be very proud as all their efforts.

World Map

At Playdom I worked on a game tentatively titled Creatures RPG. The art style was to be based upon the idea that the world was a paper pop up book. All the characters and environments would layer on top of each other like the sliding pieces of a pop up book. Unfortunately the game was cancelled, but I truly enjoyed the experience of developing it.

The basic gameplay was centered around your character raising dragons to explore and battle with in multiple fantasy themed floating islands. Here I was concepting different ideas for the town (main menu) layout and look and feel.
